So, I was thinking…

August 2024—A big meeting at ThrillerFest
OK, I admit it. I totally skipped updating my blog lately with as busy as I’ve been this summer. It all started at the end of May when I attended another amazing ThrillerFest in New York City. First, thank you to all the people who approached me to thank me for doing The Dossier. I’m thrilled by the response and by every follower. I’m especially grateful to the writers who have trusted me with their interview. Time is irreplaceable, and they gave me some of theirs. It’s been so much fun.

Second, a huge thanks to Lis Malone for letting me tag along to a wonderful dinner with a table full of amazing writers. I was so lucky to sit and talk to Jerome Preisler, Steven Hartov, and Steve Stratton. I’m excited to say that there will be an announcement about the outcome of that event.

Because of that dinner, I’ve been very busy writing. More to come!

I’ll be at Bouchercon in Nashville, and I cannot wait for this conference. Last year’s was so good, and I expect even more this time around. I’ll be on a panel for the first time, so buckle up, folks.

Finally, I started a YouTube channel! I’ll start making a lot of fun videos very soon, but you can still get one update right now if you visit the page. Much more to come!

May 2024—New segment: Agents & Editors
Because I have so much time on my hands (que the sardonic smile), I started something new here at The Dossier. It’s called The Writer’s Dossier: Agents & Editors edition, and I’m launching it in New York City during ThrillerFest. Be sure to come back and check out the lineup of some of the top agents and editors in the business and get their take on writers. It’ll be a blast!

Also, I did two The Writer’s Dossier: Five Quick Author Questions this month. One with Terrence McCaulley for his book CHICAGO 63, and one with John Stamp for his book OVERMATCH. They’re both a lot of fun!

April 2024—Five Quick Questions
I started something new here at The Dossier. It’s called The Writer’s Dossier: Five Quick Author Questions.

The idea is to save the listener time by limiting each interview to under fifteen minutes. We get right down to it so you can go about the rest of your day. With each discussion, I’ll be turning the tables on author/podcasters like Travis Davis and Terrence McCauley by asking them questions about their books. Usually these talented guys ask the questions … but not this time.

You can check out the first installment with Travis Davis where we discuss his new book ONE OF FOUR. Hope you enjoy and tune in as we add more.

January 2024—Winter activities in NW Ohio
With it being so cold lately here in Northwest Ohio, I’ve been indoors a lot. You just don’t go out in January. Everybody knows. It’s like not going outside in the afternoon in Savannah in August. Not that Savannah’s anything like NW Ohio. Being a native, I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

I’ve been fortunate, however, in between binging Netflix, Prime, and Apple TV, to go on some podcasts. Lately, I was lucky enough to get booked on one of my favorites: The Spybrary Spy Book Podcast with Shane Whaley (he’s been on the BBC, you know!) The Spybrary community is a great group of spy book lovers, and so far, they haven’t slayed me for my appearance or my book recommendations.

On a special edition of the show called Dead Drop 5, I got to share what five spy novels I’d want my handler to leave in my Berlin dead drop. There were other things I got to request, as well.

Shane is a wonderful host, and this segment was a lot of fun! Tip of the hat to Dossier members I.S. Berry, Bruce Borgos, and Adam Sikes who all got mentions on the show. What a great time. Hope you enjoy.
